The School community welcomes and respects persons of all faiths and educates to an understanding of the religions and spiritual traditions of the world. School leadership prioritises space and time for silence and contemplation for its members to deepen their interior life.

We believe we have an obligation to develop our intellectual talents and skills as reflective, lifelong learners who create a positive impact in the world. The School's curricular and co-curricular programs integrate innovation and collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving, the exploration of emerging technologies and critical evaluation of information.
Goal III · JusticeA social awareness that impels to action.
We believe we have a responsibility to confront injustice, seek equality, practice compassion, and respect the dignity of each and every person. Drawing from Catholic Social Teaching, the School educates students to analyse and work to eradicate social structures, practices, systems and values that perpetuate racism and other injustices.
Goal IV · CommunityThe building of community as a Christian value.
We believe our Sacred Heart community fosters an inclusive environment in which all are welcomed, embraced, and challenged to contribute to the good of the whole.
Goal V · WisdomThe fifth Goal of a Sacred Heart school.
Faith, Intellect, Justice, Community and Wisdom are the five Goals the school lives by daily. In the Goals and Criteria, the Society of the Sacred Heart defines the mission of the School as part of the Society's educational mission in the Catholic Church, and each school is accountable to the Society through the Sacred Heart Commission on Goals for adherence to them.

The five questions every family asks first.
Which grades does Sacred Heart Greenwich enrol?
Early Childhood through grade 12. The Barat Center for Early Childhood Education is co-ed and takes children aged three to five; from Kindergarten onward the school is all girls, through Lower School (K to 4), Middle School (5 to 8) and Upper School (9 to 12).
Do we have to be Catholic?
No. The school identifies itself to the wider community as a Catholic, independent, Sacred Heart school and embodies the mission of the Society of the Sacred Heart. It also states plainly that the school community welcomes and respects persons of all faiths, and educates to an understanding of the religions and spiritual traditions of the world.
When does the application open?
The online Application for Admission for the following academic year opens on September 15th. Families are encouraged to set up their Admission Portal and apply early in the season to secure the widest choice of student visit dates and interview times. The Standard Application Online is accepted in addition to the school's own application.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes. $5.8M is awarded in financial aid annually, and the same person leads both offices: Katie Cullinane is Director of Admission and Financial Aid. One conversation, not two.
What is a Sacred Heart education actually held to?
Five Goals: Faith, Intellect, Justice, Community and Wisdom. Each school in the Network is accountable to the Society of the Sacred Heart, through the Sacred Heart Commission on Goals, for adherence to the Goals and Criteria, and the Board of Trustees allocates resources to support each Goal.
